Arrival & Departure Airports

You will need to book a round-trip ticket to and from Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB).

 

Items to Note:

  • Arrive in JNB no later than May 5, 2026.

  • Group flight departs from JNB to Kasane, Botswana on May 6 at 12:30 pm.

  • The trip concludes with a group flight from Swakopmund, Namibia to Johannesburg on May 13.

  • You will arrive back in JNB on May 13th time TBD.  We are currently working on getting an earlier flight, but will be able to confirm by 9/1/25

 

In-Country Flights & Transfers

All flights between Johannesburg, Kasane, and Swakopmund are included. Ground transfers and group excursions are covered as part of your package.

Weather in May

Kasane, Botswana: Warm and dry, temperatures range from 60°F at night to 85°F during the day.

The winter season begins in May and ends in August. This is also the dry season when virtually no rainfall occurs. Winter days are invariably sunny and cool to warm. However, with no cloud cover, evening and night temperatures can rapidly fall reaching below zero in some areas, especially in the southwest.

The in between periods, April/early May and September/October, still tend to be dry.  The days are cooler than in summer and the nights are warmer than in winter.

Swakopmund, Namibia: Cool coastal climate. Expect 55°F to 70°F with breezes.

The winter season in Namibia begins in May and ends in August. This is also the dry season, with little to no rainfall. Days are consistently sunny with mild to warm temperatures, making it a pleasant time to visit. However, nights can become very cold due to clear skies, with temperatures occasionally falling below freezing, especially in the desert regions and southern areas.  The transitional months April to early May and September to October, remain mostly dry. Days are cooler than in summer, while nights are warmer than during the peak of winter, offering comfortable conditions for travel and exploration.
